Okay, in defense of my admittedly flawed memory, Charlotte actually did sleep pretty well for a newborn. She tried to sleep for five hours at a time during the night, and I had to wake her up to nurse her. It seemed...counterintuitive, but I did what i had to do.
Then at three months, she started sleeping ten to twelve hours every night. Straight! In a row!
But, then we moved her out of the bassinet, and it was all downhill from there. Like, really downhill. Like jumping off a cliff.
I'm a new mother and a graduate student in English literature. I'm trying to be one of those hip moms that discusses the new exhibit at the Getty and can't decide between the syrah or pinot noir, instead of one who discusses the latest carseat models and can't decide between Huggies or Pampers. I don't think I'm doing a very good job.
Oh man that made me laugh. "...It's possible I'm not remembering this correctly." hehehehe
ReplyDeleteLOL - yeah, I'm thinking you might be slightly mistaken. ;)
ReplyDeleteShit, dude. Newborns sleep?
ReplyDeleteThis is news to me.

Okay, I'm going to go sleep now.
We are looking at pictures of our toddlers as babies because we want more babies, yes? I spent an hour looking at E-baby photos the other day. Oy.
ReplyDelete@Perpetua- Yep. That's pretty much what's going on over here. *Sigh*
